For students who have had no previous instruction in the language or have had one year of high school French. Emphasis is placed on patterns of French pronunciation and grammar as well as the acquisition of basic reading, writing, and conversational skills. One hour of laboratory practice per week is required. (TCCNS = FREN 1411)
