Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in CMPS 2433. A study of concepts, characteristics, design, and implementation of database management systems. Hierarchical, network, and relational approaches to DBMS designs are examined. Such advanced models as object-oriented databases and image retrieval systems are also discussed.
