For students who have had no previous instruction in the language or have had one year of high school German. Emphasis is placed on patterns of German pronunciation and grammar as well as the acquisition of basic reading, writing, and conversational skills. One hour per week of laboratory practice is required. (TCCNS = GERM 1411)
